How Accurate Is a Polygraph Test?
Polygraph testing, when conducted by a qualified, certified examiner using approved protocols, achieves accuracy rates of 87–98%. Single-issue examinations — those focused on one specific question or incident — consistently produce the highest accuracy rates. These are the same government-grade protocols trusted by the FBI, CIA, DEA, Secret Service, and law enforcement agencies nationwide.
Accuracy depends heavily on the qualifications of the examiner and the quality of the equipment used. At Locaters International, our examiner holds current certification, maintains membership in the Florida Polygraph Association, and adheres strictly to American Polygraph Association (APA) standards of practice and ethics — ensuring you receive results you can rely on.
What We Test: Services by Situation
We offer professional polygraph examinations for a wide range of personal, legal, and business needs:
-
Relationship & Infidelity
Suspicions of infidelity or dishonesty in a relationship can be emotionally devastating. A professionally administered polygraph can provide the clarity and closure needed to move forward — one way or the other.
-
False Accusations
Being falsely accused of something you did not do is a serious matter. A polygraph examination can provide documented evidence of your truthfulness to support your defense in legal, professional, or personal settings.
-
Workplace Theft & Employee Fraud
Internal theft, embezzlement, and employee dishonesty cost businesses millions every year. When properly administered under EPPA guidelines, polygraph testing is one of the most effective tools available to investigate and resolve these matters.
-
Legal & Attorney Support
We work with attorneys, paralegals, and legal professionals to provide court-ready polygraph reports for criminal defense, civil litigation, family law matters, and more. Our written reports are detailed, professionally prepared, and suitable for use in legal proceedings.
-
Pre-Employment Screening
For positions requiring public trust — including law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs, and positions in security or controlled substance industries — polygraph testing plays a critical role in the hiring process.
-
Family & Custody Matters
Sensitive family situations, including custody disputes and allegations involving children, sometimes require objective, documented truth verification. Our examiner handles these matters with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity.

-
Scheduling Your Appointment
All examinations are conducted by appointment only at our private South Daytona office. Appointment-only scheduling ensures complete confidentiality — there are no waiting rooms, no shared spaces, and no risk of running into anyone you know.
-
Pre-Test Interview (approx. 30 minutes)
Your examiner will review the process with you, explain how the instrument works, and agree upon the specific test questions in advance. You will know exactly what will be asked before the examination begins.
-
The Examination (approx. 60 minutes)
The polygraph instrument measures physiological responses — heart rate, respiration, and skin conductivity — as you answer a series of yes-or-no questions. Each question is repeated multiple times to ensure accuracy. The process is completely non-invasive and painless.
-
Your Written Report
Following the examination, you will receive a fully detailed written report with clear results. This report includes the examiner's findings, methodology, and conclusions — suitable for personal use, legal proceedings, or attorney review.
Total appointment time: approximately 2 hours.
